Restoring Trust; An Audit of Harm Reduction Research

The Challenge

Since the beginning of the overdose crisis in 2016, no systematic audit of research outputs has been conducted to assess quality and policy-actionability.

Approach

How I Worked

I designed the Restoring Trust methodology and report assess the research integrity of published papers at the British Columbia Centre on Substance Use. The findings indicate that drastic and immediate research reform is needed.

• This work has resulted in high-level meetings with senior executives and health systems leadership, supporting a new approach to institutional research
